FANUC robots at EMO show: Milano(Italy), 5 -10 October 2009, Hall 3, Stand E02/G01

    30/09/2009

At EMO in Milan, Fanuc Group will exhibit the practical application of its latest control products and robots to obtain high productivity solutions for machine tool builders and machine users.

This will include new functions for CNCs and drives, as well as energy-saving tools and service and support products.

The Fanuc Group will also showcase a variety of automation concepts displaying integration of intelligent robots with machine tools.

Fanuc will present features of its Series 30i/31i/32i CNCs to provide higher productivity.

These CNCs are especially suited for complex machines, such as combined lathe/milling centres, five-axis machines, and multi-spindle and transfer machines.

Visitors will discover five-axis machining features such as Smooth TCP/Smooth TCP2.

These functions will minimise the machining time and maximise the machining quality.

Other enhancements to be demonstrated include the expansion of 3D Interference Check, which safeguards collision-risk areas, and a Quick Program Restart Function, which enables easy resumption of machining, for example, after tool damage.

At EMO, the Fanuc Group will also introduce new features for its CNC Series 0i - Model D.

These CNCs offer nano-interpolation, a function which satisfies the most demanding finish requirements at high feed rates and speeds.

Dual Check Safety is a new feature on the Series 0i, which uses the CNC's multiple processors to cross-check data to monitor safety critical parts of the machine; this enables compliance of the machine with international safety standards without the need for additional safety units.

A new open CNC version, the stand-alone type Series 0i - Model D, enables a high-speed serial bus (HSSB) link to a Panel I display interface with Windows Embedded PC functionality.

Visitors at EMO will also see the latest features for Fanuc's workshop programming Manual Guide I software, as well as PC-compatible software, NCGuidepro, which can be used for developing machine control offline and for training purposes.

Fanuc also offers additional energy-saving technology.

An Energy Monitoring Function provides data on energy consumption and recovery for all axes during machining, enabling optimal setting of the axes.

Fanuc will also show its latest developments in drive technology, including large spindle motors and large servo motors suitable for large machine tools, large presses and injection moulding machines.

Energy Charge modules are designed for large machines: they store energy released from servo and main spindle motors during braking and feed it back during subsequent acceleration.

Using Fanuc GE service and support, coupled with the reliability of Fanuc technology, ensures maximum machine availability and productivity, claims the company.

Fanuc robot solutions can also be seen operating on the Fanuc stand, offering increased productivity in manufacturing through intelligent integration with machine tools.

These will include a super-heavy payload robot and a high-speed mini robot.

There will also be information about Fanuc's wide range of CO2 lasers with features to reduce planned maintenance.
